Doctora en Filología por la Universidad de Salamanca.
Catedrática de Universidad del Departamento de Ciencias de la Comunicación de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
Sus líneas de investigación y docencia son: la didáctica de la literatura en ELE, los Estudios Culturales y los Estudios de Comunicación y Género.
- Ha participado en proyectos de investigación del Plan Nacional de I+D+i.
- Ha sido profesora en diferentes universidades entre ellas en la Universidad de Aberdeen (Escocia), la Universidad de Vanderbilt (USA), la Universidad de Córdoba (Argentina), el Centro de Investigação CIES-IUL Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), la Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca (Italia) o la Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Alemania).
